Maseru, Lesotho – Letsatsi Lekhooa Sunshine, a Mandela Washington Fellow and climate activist, is being recognized for his dedication to environmental sustainability on Earth Day.
Lekhooa, a native of Quthing near Lesotho’s majestic Mount Moorosi, exemplifies the spirit of Earth Day through his work at the intersection of technology, community engagement, and environmental protection.
Lekhooa holds a Bachelor’s degree in Mathematics and Computer Science and is currently pursuing a Master’s in Climate Change. His career has bridged technical roles in ICT with leadership positions within organizations like the Africa Circular Economy Network Foundation. Notably, he has been recognized for his ability to seamlessly blend his technical expertise with his passion for environmental stewardship.
Lekhooa’s influence extends beyond his professional roles. He actively participates in national and international climate committees, including Lesotho’s National Climate Change Committee. His tireless advocacy efforts earned him recognition as one of the top 100 Climate Activists globally by the UNFCCC in 2019.
