Singapore – Anyin Choo, Guyana’s newly appointed Ambassador to China, has also been accredited as the Non-Resident High Commissioner to Singapore. Her credentials were presented to President Tharman Shanmugaratnam at the Istana Presidential Palace on April 30, 2024.
Following the ceremony, High Commissioner Choo met with Singapore’s Foreign Minister, Dr. Vivian Balakrishnan. Discussions focused on fostering stronger bilateral cooperation between the two nations. Guyana and Singapore established diplomatic relations in 2002.

High Commissioner Choo furthered her visit by engaging with executives from the Singapore Business Federation. The meeting explored potential investment and trade opportunities in Guyana. This outreach highlights Guyana’s interest in attracting Singaporean investment and expertise.
