Chelsea’s highly-anticipated debut of Joao Felix ended in disappointment as his side suffered a defeat in a London derby against Fulham, further adding to the mounting pressure on manager Graham Potter.
The £9.7m loan signing from Atletico Madrid was given a straight red card for a reckless tackle on defender Kenny Tete in the 58th minute, with the score tied at 1-1. Willian, a former Chelsea player, had put the hosts in the lead in the first half, but Kalidou Koulibaly quickly equalized for the Blues early in the second half.
However, despite the man advantage, Chelsea were unable to hold on for a draw as Carlos Vinicius scored the winning goal in the 72nd minute. Chelsea’s struggles continue, as they have only won twice in their last 10 matches in all competitions.
