Labour Party Presidential Candidate, Peter Obi, made a surprise visit to Biu Emirate in Southern Borno State as part of his campaign to become Nigeria’s next president.
This makes him the first Nigerian Presidential Candidate to do so.
The visit was met with wild jubilation and disbelief from the Southern Borno natives, who stated they never imagined a popular presidential candidate would think of and visit them.
Obi promised to alleviate the sufferings and end the insecurity caused by Boko Haram in his speech, stating he would be a president for all Nigerians and work to unite the country.
The locals expressed their belief that Obi is the one to change Nigeria and promised to secure bloc votes for him.
The governorship candidate for Labour Party in Borno state also reassured the crowd that security and economic activities would improve if they were elected.
The coordinator of the event Isaac Balami, who organized a summit between Peter Obi and North East stakeholders in Abuja few weeks ago, said “Borno people love Obi and need him.”
Peter Obi’s campaign in the Northern part of Nigeria is considered one of the top contenders for the February 25th presidential election.
