On Thursday in Katsina State, President Muhammadu Buhari criticized the Nigerian elite for being “very selfish” rather than working together for the benefit of their fellow citizens.
Buhari stated that if the elite had prioritized the welfare of the country over their own interests, the standard of living in Nigeria would be more bearable.
He also expressed regret that previous administrations had not utilized resources effectively when oil prices were high.
Buhari praised Governor Aminu Masari of Katsina State for prioritizing basic infrastructure despite limited resources and inspected several development projects in education, healthcare, and road infrastructure.
He also acknowledged that citizens are primarily concerned with government results in terms of security and the economy.
