I will convert ‘area boys’ to positive tools in Lagos – Jandor

Abdul-Azeez Adediran, also known as Jandor, the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) governorship candidate in Lagos State, has pledged to turn street youths, known as “area boys,” into positive contributors.

He believes this will improve security in areas near garages and throughout the state.

During ThePlatform debate for Lagos governorship candidates, Jandor stated that he will convert area boys into positive tools by removing garages from their control if he sees them committing crimes.

Jandor also plans to introduce “intelligentsia community policing” to gather information from citizens to prevent security breakdowns.

He intends to build trust with citizens to assure them that the information they provide will be acted upon.

Jandor believes the best way to tackle insecurity is to be proactive, using the right information at the right time to prevent it.

On traffic congestion, Jandor says some areas only need to be cleared, not renovated. He also plans to partner with private schools, churches, and mosques to reduce the number of out-of-school children and automate the process of getting bed spaces at general hospitals.
