Nasir El-Rufai, Governor of Kaduna State, claimed on a Channels Television interview that individuals around President Muhammadu Buhari are sabotaging the All Progressives Congress (APC) presidential candidate Bola Tinubu in the upcoming election.
El-Rufai alleged that elements in the Presidential Villa are plotting against the APC’s victory as their preferred candidate did not win the party’s presidential nomination.
This comes a week after Tinubu accused petrol queues and currency shortages due to the Central Bank of Nigeria’s cash swap initiatives as attempts to hinder his candidacy.
According to El-Rufai, the same individuals are behind the non-removal of petrol subsidies and the faulty implementation of the Naira notes swap by the Central Bank of Nigeria.
He stated that they are hiding behind the president’s intentions and not making political or economic sense.
