CSER calls for arrest of Paul Enenche over alleged incitement

The senior pastor of Dunamis International Gospel Centre, Paul Enenche, has been called for arrest by the Centre for Social and Economic Rights (CSER) due to his “inciting message” on the collation of the presidential election results.

According to CSER’s executive director, Nelson Ekujumi, the messages are a “threat to national peace and security”.

During his sermon on February 26, Enenche had criticized the involvement of “human demons” and their “lunatic agents” in disrupting the peace election in some states.

Ekujumi has described the message as “irresponsible, insensitive, reckless, and provocative,” and the group is disturbed and frowns upon the incitement message that Paul Enenche and others of like minds are unleashing on Nigerians to cause disruption of public peace and order for personal political advantage.

Ekujumi added that the CSER is shocked and condemns the double standards being displayed by the Department of State Services (DSS), which invited an APC campaign council media director, Chief Femi Fani-Kayode, for questioning over comments that were considered a threat to national security, while they seem to be ignoring Paul Enenche’s actions that are also considered a threat.

Therefore, as the country awaits the announcement of final results and declaration of winners of the 2023 general elections at the national collation centre in Abuja, CSER is demanding the immediate arrest and prosecution of Paul Enenche for comments that are capable of disrupting public peace, truncating, and toppling democracy, which amounts to treason under the constitution of the Federal Republic of Nigeria.
