In a press conference held in Abuja on Thursday, Atiku Abubakar, the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) presidential candidate, stated that the recently concluded election, which declared Bola Tinubu as the president-elect, was marred by “unprecedented fraud.” Abubakar expressed sadness at the outcome of the election and called for the challenge of the fraud that characterized it.
He claimed that the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) failed to meet expectations, and the conduct of the election was neither free nor fair. According to him, the election was flawed in every material particular, and both local and international observers attested to it.
Abubakar urged Nigerians who are traumatized by the election results to maintain peace and asked President Muhammadu Buhari to make amends for the good of the country and future generations.
