The All Progressives Congress (APC) is preparing for the Governorship and House of Assembly poll in Lagos on March 11.
The party’s presidential candidate, Asiwaju Bola Tinubu, and Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu are leading the preparations.
During the presidential election, the Labour Party’s Peter Obi defeated Tinubu in nine out of 20 local governments in Lagos.
The low voter turnout and residents’ disenchantment with Tinubu’s support of outgoing President Muhammadu Buhari’s administration contributed to the APC’s defeat. However, Women Arise 4 Tinubu congratulated Tinubu on his victory and expressed optimism that he would perform well.
The APC has directed members of its executive council to embark on door-to-door campaigns to canvass votes from residents and aggrieved party members to ensure victory.
The leading governorship candidates are Sanwo-Olu, Olajide Adediran of the PDP, Gbadebo Rhodes-Vivour of the LP, and Olufunso Doherty of the African Democratic Congress, among others.
Sanwo-Olu has highlighted his achievements, including the Blue Rail Line, redline rail system, Lagos Rice Mill, and construction of roads, flyovers, bridges, and health facilities.
