The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has postponed the governorship and State House of Assembly elections, which were scheduled to hold on March 11, to March 18.
The All Progressives Congress (APC) has stated that it will abide by the decision of the electoral commission. However, the APC National Publicity Secretary, Felix Morka, has urged INEC to safeguard the integrity of the extracted data from the Bimodal Voter Accreditation System (BVAS) as it had committed to do before court. Morka emphasized that the commission should take the opportunity presented by the election postponement to address any gaps identified in the presidential election to avoid a reoccurrence in the March 18 elections.
The APC also reminded everyone to eschew conduct or action that could undermine the peace of the country or imperil the capacity of INEC to conduct the upcoming elections.
The party expressed gratitude for the renewed presidential mandate and urged its supporters to double down on their support for the party and its candidates in the upcoming elections.
