Olajide Adediran, also known as Jandor, the Lagos State governorship candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), has accused a PDP chieftain in the state, Bode George, of praising the Labour Party candidate, Gbadebo Rhodes-Vivour, because Adediran refused to accept him as a godfather.
Adediran made these remarks during an interview on Arise TV on Wednesday, where he revealed that he secured the PDP ticket without any support from party chieftains.
He also mentioned that Bode George had suggested Rhodes-Vivour as his running mate after he won the party’s ticket, which Adediran refused because he did not want to be under another godfather’s control. Adediran stated that Bode George’s actions demonstrate the prevalence of godfatherism in Nigerian politics.
