The Eko Forum, comprising of prominent indigenes of Lagos State, has endorsed Gbadebo Rhodes-Vivour, the Labour Party’s gubernatorial candidate, for the upcoming election next Saturday.
The forum, in a statement by its Chairman, Alhaji Ismaila Williams, and General Secretary, Olawale Ogundimu, urged all Lagos indigenes and residents to vote for Rhodes-Vivour, whom they described as a “proper son of the soil.”
The forum’s decision was taken after a meeting held on Sunday by members from all the 20 local governments and 37 local council development areas.
The statement further indicated that Rhodes-Vivour was appraised using various indices, including educational attainment, youthfulness, pedigree, and ability to relate with issues affecting the state, and emerged as the best candidate.
The Eko Forum also debunked rumours that Rhodes-Vivour’s government would undermine the interest of the Yoruba people, stating that the propaganda is unfounded and should not be given any attention.
