The Presidential Campaign Council of the All Progressives Congress has denied reports that the President-elect, Asiwaju Bola Tinubu, has been urgently flown abroad for medical treatment.
Recent media reports have alleged that Tinubu, the former governor of Lagos, was taken to London, United Kingdom, on Tuesday night for medical reasons.
These rumors have arisen just hours after Peter Obi, the Labour Party candidate, filed a petition at the election tribunal to challenge the result of the presidential election held on Saturday. The APC has clarified that Tinubu is not ill, but is instead taking a rest abroad and will use the opportunity to observe Ramadan and go for Umrah.
The APC has urged those spreading the rumors to stop and allow Tinubu to rest, asserting that he is in good health.
