The city is making efforts to attract more international visitors to Cape Town, more than two years after the COVID-19 pandemic. James Vos, the Mayoral Committee Member for Economic Growth, has announced that he will launch a digital campaign over the next few days to entice international travelers to visit and explore the Mother City’s offerings.
The campaign was previously launched in November and December in major European cities such as London, Amsterdam, Brussels, and Paris, among others. Its purpose was to encourage the audience to consider Cape Town as their next destination for travel or remote working.
The campaign was successful, with over twenty-five million views, exceeding the set target by three million.
According to Vos, tourism is a significant driver of economic growth and job creation, and the city government will do everything in its power to attract visitors from key source markets and land more flights.
