A Nigerian woman has been arrested in the Seychelles on charges of drug trafficking and conspiracy to import a controlled substance.
The arrest was made after a search of her belongings led to the seizure of 250 grams of suspected cocaine.
The Seychelles has a strict policy on illegal drugs, with a maximum sentence of life imprisonment for those found guilty.
Last year, a Zimbabwean woman was sentenced to five years in prison for similar offences.
Recently, two foreign men, a Nigerian and a Nicaraguan, were also sentenced to 30 years and five years, respectively, for the importation of cocaine.
