The Labour Party (LP) will refund the N25 million nomination fee paid by the late Humphrey Anumudu, a governorship aspirant of the party in Imo State, to his family, according to the party’s National Chairman, Julius Abure.
Abure stated this after a meeting with National Assembly-Elect members of the party in Abuja on Tuesday. He also assured that no newly elected members of the National Assembly under the party will defect to other political parties.
Abure said the decision to return the nomination fee was to show empathy and compassion towards the deceased and his family. He added that the party stands for leadership of compassion and empathy.
