The Ohanaeze Ndigbo has called on Aare Ona Kakanfo of Yorubaland, Iba Gani Adams, to intervene and prevent the All Progressives Congress (APC) thugs, led by Musiliu Akinsanya, known as MC Oluomo, from instigating a conflict between the Yoruba and Igbo communities in Lagos State.
The Secretary-General of the organization, Okechukwu Isiguzoro, condemned the unprovoked attacks on Igbos in Lagos, stating that the attacks appear to have motives beyond political gain.
Several markets in Lagos, primarily inhabited by Igbo traders, have been destroyed by mysterious fires in recent weeks. Isiguzoro expressed disappointment that Lagos State Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu has not been able to resolve the attacks on Igbos. He called on Iba Gani Adams to use his position to halt the violence and prevent the situation from escalating.
Ohanaeze Ndigbo urges Ndigbo to remain law-abiding but vigilant in the face of “genocide and crimes against humanity” being perpetrated against them. They also commend Afenifere for their patriotic stance on the issue.
