The presidential candidate of the African Action Congress (AAC), Omoyele Sowore, has raised concerns about weaponizing religion for political purposes in Nigeria ahead of the 2023 elections.
He recalled speaking about this on “Apostolic Roundtable”, a Christian program in Lagos before the February 25 presidential election.
Sowore had warned that the candidate chosen by the Christian community might not win the election since God cannot be divided.
In a video shared on his Twitter handle, Sowore urged Christian leaders to be cautious and let God choose His own king over His people instead of gathering to select a candidate in Kaduna or Kano.
He cautioned that some of the worst leaders in Nigeria have been chosen by religious leaders.
