Julius Malema, leader of the Economic Freedom Fighters (EFF), has accused the Ugandan president of planning to use the recently passed anti-homosexuality bill as a tool against his political opponents.
Malema expressed concern that the legislation would endanger the lives of the LGBTQI+ community as well as those who oppose Museveni’s regime.
Speaking at an EFF march against the bill, Malema urged other African countries to stand in solidarity for human rights regardless of individual differences.
He warned that Museveni could potentially accuse his political rivals of homosexuality and use the law to have them killed, calling for urgent action to prevent this from happening.
