Former Minister of Aviation, Femi Fani-Kayode, has come under fire from the Coalition of South-East Youth Leaders (COSEYL) for his comment that the presidential candidate of the Labour Party, Peter Obi, should leave Nigeria and never return.
In a press release signed by its President-General, Goodluck Ibem, COSEYL described Fani-Kayode’s statement as “unguarded” and issued a seven-day ultimatum for him to apologize to Obi.
The group also criticized Fani-Kayode for his careless and reckless speech, which it said had brought serious embarrassment to Nigeria in the international community. The group urged Obi to remain resolute in his pursuit to retrieve his mandate and not be distracted by people like Fani-Kayode, Lai Mohammed, Festus Keyamo, and the All Progressives Congress, whom it described as distractions that do not mean well for Nigeria.
The group concluded by saying that Nigeria must be liberated from criminals, and urged everyone to focus on achieving that goal.
