Atiku’s camp tells Soyinka: Debate Chimamanda, not Datti-Ahmed

Daniel Bwala, the spokesman for the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) presidential candidate, Atiku Abubakar, has responded to Nobel Laureate Wole Soyinka’s call to debate with Labour Party (LP) presidential running mate, Datti Baba-Ahmed.

In an interview on March 22, Datti claimed that the country did not have a president-elect, despite the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) announcing Bola Tinubu as the winner of the election.

Datti also stated that Tinubu would be leading an unconstitutional government if sworn into office because he had not met the requirements of the law. Bwala believes that since Soyinka is not a politician, he should challenge Chimamanda Adichie instead of Datti.

Bwala expressed his thoughts on Twitter, saying that both Soyinka and Chimamanda were skilled in literature and grammar, but Datti was a politician, making it an unfair debate.

He suggested that when Soyinka debates Chimamanda, he will understand the phrase “nobody has the monopoly of knowledge,” and it will be like the story of David and Goliath.

Am told Prof. Soyinka asked to debate Datti. No, he should ask to debate Chimamanda Adichie. Datti is a pilitician, Soyinka is not, so it will be an unfair debate. But both Soyinka and Chimamanda trade on literatures and grammar. #Soyinkadebatechimamanda.
