At Anfield, in an incident-packed encounter with Liverpool, Roberto Firmino scored a dramatic late equalizer to cut Arsenal’s lead at the top of the Premier League to six points.
Despite the Gunners being in cruise control with a two-goal lead within the first half-hour, their lack of discipline cost them dearly. Salah’s goal was the perfect invitation to mount a second-half siege in front of the Kop, and it was one Liverpool accepted as they finally showed some of their true form.
Despite Liverpool’s improved attack in the second half, they still looked vulnerable at the back, and both Arsenal goals were cheap. The result does not benefit either side, reducing Liverpool’s chances of a top-four place and offering a boost to Arsenal’s title rivals Manchester City, who now trail by six points and still have a game in hand on the north Londoners.
