Nigerian afrobeat superstar Davido has yet again made his country proud by bagging a Gold certification plaque for his hit song ‘Fall’ in France. The DMW CEO has claimed the plaque he earned for his breakthrough song, “Fall,” achieving gold in France, which is a significant milestone for any artist.

The track, which was released in 2017, has received a lot of love from fans across the globe, with the song amassing over 15 million streams and selling 100,000 units in France. In recognition of this achievement, Davido and the DMW team visited the Sony Music headquarters to pick up their individual Gold certification plaques.

This is not the first time the singer’s hit song “Fall” has received such an honor, as the track has also received Gold certification in Canada and the US in 2020, making it the first song from Nigeria to achieve gold status in the US.

In addition to this milestone, Davido’s newly released album “Timeless,” which dropped on March 31, 2023, has set new records. The album has broken all five of Nigeria’s top streaming platforms’ previous first-week records, making it one of the most popular albums in the country’s music industry.

“Timeless” has the largest number of first-week streams in Audiomack history and has also set a new record for the most first-day and first-week streams of any album on Spotify Nigeria, Apple Music Africa, Boomplay, and YouTube Nigeria.

On April 23, 2023, the highly anticipated event in TBS Lagos will take place, where Davido is expected to perform songs from his new album “Timeless.” With his international success showing no signs of slowing down, the Nigerian artist is set to make more waves in the global music scene.
