Nigerian comedian Mr Macaroni has sparked fresh debate online with his comments regarding the ongoing social media feud between Afrobeats stars Wizkid, Davido, and music mogul Don Jazzy.
Macaroni, known for his comedic skits, argued that while Wizkid’s online jab calling Don Jazzy an “influencer” was disrespectful in context, Don Jazzy’s influence on the Nigerian music industry remains undeniable.
“Don Jazzy is an influencer, perhaps the biggest entertainment influencer we have in Africa,” Macaroni stated during a live television appearance. He highlighted Don Jazzy’s long-standing impact, citing his work with artists like D’banj, Wande Coal, and the success of his Mavin Records label.
However, Macaroni believes the way Wizkid phrased the term “influencer” was disrespectful. “That context is what we find disrespectful,” he concluded.
