Nollywood actor Yul Edochie has sparked conversation online after suggesting singer Wizkid’s recent social media spats stemmed from the grief of losing his mother.
Wizkid had previously engaged in heated exchanges with fellow music artists Don Jazzy and Davido, sending social media into a frenzy. Edochie, in a video message shared to his Instagram, offered a different perspective.
“Many people wouldn’t understand what Wizkid’s going through,” Edochie said. “But I’ll tell you, it’s the pain of losing his mother.”
Wizkid’s mother, Jane Dolapo Balogun, passed away in London last August. The singer had openly shared the depth of his grief at the time, describing the pain as “profound.”
Edochie elaborated, attributing Wizkid’s actions to the emotional turmoil of such a loss.
“It’s a terrible pain,” he emphasized. “It can make you question everything, even lash out. We live in a world that sometimes adds to the pain, rather than offering solace.”
