Nigerian cinema fans rejoice! Renowned actor Richard Mofe Damijo, affectionately known as RMD, is set to grace the silver screen once again in his second Bollywood movie, titled “Postcards.” This exciting news comes after RMD’s successful debut in the 2020 cross-cultural comedy “Namaste Wahala,” which bridged the gap between Nigeria’s Nollywood and India’s Bollywood industries.
“Postcards” promises another stellar ensemble cast, featuring alongside RMD will be fellow Nollywood stars Tobi Bakre, Sola Shobowale, Nancy Isime, and Rahama Sadau. RMD himself shared the news with his fans on Facebook, expressing his childhood dream come true.
“From sneaking out past curfew as a kid in Warri to watch Indian films, to now being in not just one, but two Indian movies,” RMD wrote on his page. He went on to reveal that legendary Indian actor Amitabh Bachchan even reached out to him, further solidifying the magic of the project orchestrated by film producer Hamisha Ahuja.
RMD’s social media post also teased the film’s release date, hinting at a May 3rd premiere. Ahuja herself confirmed this on her Instagram page, adding that versatility was a key factor in casting decisions for “Postcards.” She emphasized the desire for actors who could effortlessly navigate diverse roles and embody a wide range of emotions.
