Ikorodu, Lagos – Pyramid of Hearts, a non-profit organization dedicated to community development, recently made a significant impact on the lives of students at United Junior High School in Ikorodu. The organization donated a much-needed toilet facility, addressing a pressing issue that had hindered the school’s overall hygiene and sanitation.
The commissioning ceremony, attended by school officials, parents, and excited students, marked a joyous occasion. Mr. Oludare Johnson, President of Pyramid of Hearts, emphasized the importance of adequate sanitation in educational institutions.
By providing modern and hygienic toilets, we aim to create a healthier and more conducive learning environment for students, Johnson said. “Cleanliness and proper sanitation are fundamental to a child’s well-being and academic success.”
Hygiene expert Kehinde Oluwakemi also addressed the gathering, highlighting the significance of proper handwashing techniques and toilet etiquette. She emphasized the role of these practices in preventing the spread of diseases and maintaining overall health.
The project was a collaborative effort between Pyramid of Hearts, the Parents Forum, the planning committee, and dedicated volunteers. Oladipo Ezekiel, the facility’s project coordinator, acknowledged the contributions of all involved. “This project is a testament to the power of community collaboration,” he said. “Together, we can make a real difference in the lives of young people.”
