Lagos, Nigeria – In a decisive move to curb rampant traffic violations, the Lagos State Taskforce impounded 70 vehicles on Monday. The vehicles were seized for willful disregard of traffic laws, which has led to severe congestion and public inconvenience.
The Taskforce conducted joint operations in areas notorious for traffic violations, including Bariga, Oba Akran, and Ladipo by Five Star. These locations have long been plagued by reckless driving, especially by commercial transporters, who often disregard traffic rules and regulations.
Taskforce Chairman CSP Adetayo Akerele issued a stern warning to traffic offenders, stating that strict enforcement measures would be taken against those who violate traffic laws. Traffic congestion is not an inevitable consequence, Akerele emphasized, It is a direct result of reckless driving and disregard for traffic rules.
The operation asserts its commitment to improving traffic management and ensuring road safety in Lagos. By taking decisive action against traffic violators, the agency aims to reduce accidents, alleviate traffic congestion, and create a safer and more efficient transportation system in the state.
