The annual Starlight Night event transformed the serene and upscale Banana Island neighborhood in Ikoyi into a vibrant holiday haven on Saturday night, marking the arrival of the 2024 Yuletide season. Sponsored by Globacom, Nigeria’s leading telecommunications company, the event united residents, community leaders, and corporate partners for a memorable evening filled with festive cheer and celebration.
Organized by the Banana Island Property Owners and Residents Association Lagos (Biporal), the gathering was a celebration of unity, joy, and community togetherness. With a remarkable line-up of entertainment, including captivating performances by Art Afrique and SPAN, the event lit up the island in a show of high-energy music and vibrant performances that kept the crowd enthralled.
Globacom’s sponsorship of the event showcased the company’s ongoing commitment to giving back to the communities it serves, especially during the festive season. A representative from Globacom shared, “Christmas is a time for unity, joy, and togetherness. The evening reached its pinnacle with the much-anticipated lighting of the massive Christmas tree and street light boxes, which bathed Banana Island in a dazzling display of lights. The breathtaking fireworks display that followed left the audience in awe, creating a magical and unforgettable atmosphere for all in attendance.
