Ikoyi, Lagos – A major fire broke out at a section of the Radio Nigeria building located at Plot No. 35, Ikoyi Road, Ikoyi, Lagos, on Wednesday evening. The incident, which took place around 5:30 PM, prompted a swift response from the Lagos State Fire and Rescue Service.
Director Margaret Adeseye confirmed the incident in a statement, revealing that the agency immediately dispatched teams of firefighters from the Dolphin and Ebute Elefun Fire Stations to the scene. Upon arrival, the responders found the fire to be well-established, primarily fueled by the combustible materials in the studio area of the building.
The coordinated efforts of the Lagos State Fire Service, the Federal Fire Service, and other emergency responders successfully contained the blaze, which was at risk of spreading across the facility. Their quick and decisive actions ensured that the fire remained confined to the studio section of the U-shaped, one-story building, preventing further damage.
