Ikoyi, Lagos – Nigeria’s State Governors have been identified as central to achieving food security, economic prosperity, and rapid national development. During a New Year homage at his Ikoyi residence in Lagos, President Bola Tinubu addressed Vice President Kashim Shettima and members of the Nigeria Governors Forum (NGF), outlining areas for collaboration between the federal and state governments.

Tinubu called for renewed focus on agriculture, describing it as a pathway to economic stability. He also highlighted the importance of local government autonomy, reiterating his administration’s commitment to grassroots development and dispelling rumors of friction with state leaders.

The President announced a visit to Enugu State on January 4 as part of his nationwide engagement with stakeholders.Vice President Shettima, reflecting on the discussions, expressed confidence in Nigeria’s economic prospects, predicting a year of significant growth and dynamic activities.
