Lagosians were thrilled as the “Lagos Tourism is Rising” roadshow debuted, signaling a bold transformation in the state’s tourism sector. The initiative seeks to reshape Lagos’ tourism landscape and drive substantial economic contributions.

The vibrant campaign took participants through iconic districts such as Ikoyi, Lekki, and Lagos Island, using double-decker buses, motorcycle convoys, and Lagos Ride vehicles. Cultural stops included the J. Randle Centre for Yoruba Culture and History and the Nike Art Gallery, celebrating the city’s rich heritage and artistic traditions.

Live music, energetic dance performances, and engaging conversations filled the air, culminating in a grand culinary showcase that highlighted Lagos’ diverse flavors.

Special Adviser to the Governor on Tourism, Arts, and Culture, Idris Aregbe, revealed plans to make the roadshow a monthly feature, expanding its scope with both land and water tours. “This is the start of a transformative era for Lagos tourism,” Aregbe stated. “We’re committed to creating unforgettable experiences and establishing Lagos as a premier global destination.”

The event attracted prominent personalities, including Khadijat Omotayo, Oluwatoyin Atekoja, Nike Davies-Okundaye, actor Femi Adebayo, and DJ Six7even. This ambitious initiative places Lagos on a path toward revitalizing its tourism industry and boosting its economic potential.
