Women in underserved areas of Lagos State are receiving crucial support to enhance their financial well-being through a government-led advocacy program. This initiative, undertaken in collaboration with Human Capital Development Africa, aims to increase financial inclusion and foster entrepreneurial growth among women in marginalized communities.

Speaking at the program held in Odomola, Eredo Local Council Development Area, Oreoluwa Finnih, Special Adviser to Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu on Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), emphasized the critical need for women to achieve financial independence. She encouraged participants to cultivate a savings habit and actively pursue entrepreneurial ventures.

“We urge women, especially those with children, to strive for financial self-sufficiency,” Finnih stated. “This will empower them to provide for their families and achieve their personal and professional goals without relying solely on others.”

Through partnerships with organizations like Human Capital Development Africa, the government continues to address the unique challenges faced by women in marginalized communities. This ensures that women have the opportunity to meaningfully participate in the economy and improve their overall quality of life.
