LAGOS – Commissioner of Police, CP Olanrewaju Ishola, has initiated a strict enforcement of the mandatory Third-Party Insurance Policy for all vehicles in Lagos State, starting Saturday. This directive follows orders from the Inspector General of Police, IGP Kayode Egbetokun, as part of a nationwide drive to ensure compliance.
The announcement, released Saturday through the command’s spokesperson, Benjamin Hundeyin, puts vehicle owners across Lagos on notice. CP Ishola’s statement made it clear that the minimum requirement for all vehicles on Lagos roads is a valid Third-Party Insurance policy. The police are not mincing words: vehicle owners without any form of insurance are strongly advised to obtain it immediately to avoid facing the consequences.
The police are taking this enforcement drive seriously. The Nigeria Police Force has issued a stern warning to all vehicle owners and operators, making it clear that non-compliance will be met with strict enforcement actions.
