In a significant boost to healthcare delivery in Lagos East Senatorial District, Senator Mukhail Adetokunbo Abiru, FCA, has facilitated the provision of ambulances and medical consumables to Ikorodu General Hospital, Ibeju-Lekki General Hospital, and Abule-Eko Primary Health Centre in Ijede.

The official handover ceremony took place on Tuesday at the Federal Medical Centre (FMC), Ebute-Metta, where representatives of the hospitals received the donations. Senator Abiru’s Special Adviser on Constituency Matters, Dr. (Otunba) Saheed Oladapo Ibikunle, led the delegation representing the senator. Other dignitaries at the event included FMC Medical Director Dr. Adedamola Dada, Medical Director/CEO of Ibeju-Lekki General Hospital Dr. Ime Okon, Director of Clinical Services and Training at Ikorodu General Hospital Dr. Kareem Lookman, Assistant Director of Clinical Services and Training Dr. Kehinde Osinaike, and Chief Nursing Officer of Abule-Eko PHC, Patricia Ajani, among several healthcare professionals.
Hospital officials expressed their gratitude to Senator Abiru, applauding his commitment to quality representation and his significant contributions to the public health sector.
This latest intervention adds to Senator Abiru’s long list of healthcare projects in the district. Previously, he facilitated the rehabilitation and equipping of primary healthcare centers in Igbo-Olomu and Ori-Okuta (Ikorodu West LCDA), the construction of a doctors’ quarters in Labora (Ibeju-Lekki), a 40-bed hospital and dental clinic at the Lagos State University of Science and Technology (LASUSTECH), and similar 40-bed hospitals at Mascara Health Centre and Isiu in Ikorodu North LCDA.
Other members of the senator’s delegation at the event included Hon. (Mrs.) Adebimpe Akinsola, Alhaja Sherifat Abiodun Ogunniyi, Media Aide Mr. Enitan Olukotun, Legislative Assistant Ms. Comfort Olafare, Mr. Abiodun Isikalu, and Mr. Tola Togunde.
