Authorities in Lagos have arrested a teacher filmed abusing a three-year-old boy, following outrage sparked by the video’s circulation online. The Lagos State Domestic and Sexual Violence Agency (DSVA) announced the arrest, carried out by the Owutu Family Support Unit (FSU), and confirmed that investigations are underway.

The DSVA commended the public for their role in exposing the incident and reiterated the importance of creating secure learning environments for children. “Schools must serve as safe havens for young learners, free from harm or abuse,” the agency stated.

Through its Domestic and Sexual Violence Agency, the Lagos State Government reiterated its commitment to child safety, promising to hold perpetrators accountable and strengthen protective measures across the state.

Residents are urged to report suspected child abuse via the toll-free hotline 08000 333 333, or the agency’s social media channels to ensure swift action.
