Barrister Ade Ayeni, Secretary to the Local Government (SLG) of Igbogbo-Baiyeku LCDA and chairmanship aspirant, distributed food palliatives to women in Ward C4, Owode-Ibeshe, as part of an effort to alleviate hunger among the vulnerable. The distribution, which benefitted hundreds of residents, was met with praise from the community.
Ayeni, who has been an advocate for supporting the less privileged, explained that security concerns led to a strategic approach for the event. To avoid overcrowding, representatives from targeted groups were asked to collect the food packages instead of a large crowd gathering at one location.
“We thank God it was a hitch-free distribution, and we aim to cover more grounds in the future,” Ayeni said, sharing plans to expand the initiative to reach other disadvantaged groups in subsequent phases.
The food distribution was seen not only as a relief effort but also as a demonstration of leadership and compassion. Many beneficiaries expressed their gratitude for the timely assistance, which provided much-needed support during difficult times.
