Commemoration ceremony of Hakim Abolqasem Ferdowsi held in Turkmenistan

Ashgabat, Turkmenistan – The Makhtum Qoli State University of Ashgabat, Turkmenistan, hosted a commemoration ceremony in honor of Hakim Abolqasem Ferdowsi, the renowned Iranian epic poet. The event, organized by the Persian Language Department of the university, took place on May 15, coinciding with the Day of Ferdowsi and the Day of Persian Language and Literature.

During the ceremony, Morat Babagholi Annayev, the Deputy Chancellor of the University for Educational Affairs, delivered a speech paying tribute to Ferdowsi as a great Iranian poet and Makhtum Qoli as a revered Turkmen poet, both of whom enjoy immense respect worldwide. Annayev highlighted Ferdowsi’s Shahnameh, a literary masterpiece filled with moral teachings, emphasizing its global significance.

Annayev further emphasized the cultural bonds and relations between Turkmenistan and Iran, two neighboring countries. He noted the expansion of relations between the two nations in various domains, underscoring the importance of fostering stronger ties.

In his remarks, Navid Rasouli, the Cultural Attaché of Iran, emphasized the role of enhanced cultural relations in fostering a deeper understanding between nations. He highlighted the significance of universities in promoting cultural exchange and facilitating better mutual understanding.

The commemoration ceremony served as a platform to celebrate the enduring legacy of Hakim Abolqasem Ferdowsi and his contributions to Persian language and literature. It also provided an opportunity to strengthen cultural ties between Turkmenistan and Iran, recognizing the commonalities that exist between the two nations.

The Makhtum Qoli State University of Ashgabat, with its Persian Language Department, played a crucial role in organizing the event and fostering an environment of appreciation for Persian culture and heritage.

As the commemoration ceremony concluded, attendees expressed their appreciation for the cultural significance of Hakim Abolqasem Ferdowsi’s works and the opportunity to strengthen the cultural bonds between Turkmenistan and Iran. The event highlighted the importance of preserving and promoting the rich literary traditions shared by both nations.

The ceremony served as a testament to the enduring legacy of Ferdowsi’s literary contributions and the continued efforts to enhance cultural understanding and cooperation between Turkmenistan and Iran.
