Lagos, Nigeria – The Family Fellowship, a new ministry founded by former Redeemed Christian Church of God (RCCG) City of David Parish Pastor Idowu Iluyomade, has been launched in Lagos. This development comes after his suspension from the RCCG in June 2024, following controversy linked to the 60th birthday celebration of his wife, Pastor Siju Iluyomade.
The highly publicized birthday event, held shortly after the passing of prominent church member and businessman Herbert Wigwe, drew significant criticism for its perceived insensitivity. The timing of the lavish celebration, amidst a period of mourning within the church community, sparked widespread debate and ultimately led to Pastor Idowu Iluyomade’s suspension from the RCCG.
Undeterred, Pastor Iluyomade has now established The Family Fellowship, launching its inaugural service at the Civic Centre on Victoria Island, Lagos. The event was marked by an atmosphere of joy and celebration, with attendees engaging in lively dancing and worship.
Addressing the congregation, Pastor Iluyomade extended an invitation to the public, assuring them of a fulfilling and meaningful spiritual experience at The Family Fellowship. He shared the invitation on Instagram, writing, “The Family Fellowship invites you specially. Join us tomorrow at the Civic Centre for a special time in the Lord’s presence. Promises to be a great experience.”
